The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs thanked Estonian colleagues for their comprehensive support to Ukraine against the backdrop of a full-scale Russian invasion and stressed that Ukraine continues to communicate with the Estonian authorities.
Estonian sappers are ready to go to Ukraine to clear our territories. This was announced at a meeting with the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Estonia, Lauri Läänemets, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reported.
Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Igor Klymenko during the meeting noted that about a thousand sappers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are conducting operational demining of Ukraine, and they have neutralized about half a million explosive objects. However, Ukraine remains one of the most sought-after countries in the world.
Igor Klymenko thanked his Estonian colleagues for their comprehensive support for Ukraine against the backdrop of a full-scale Russian invasion and stressed that Ukraine is in constant contact with the Estonian authorities.
“We turned to the government of Estonia to provide assistance to the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs in creating a safe environment after the hostilities in our country. We try to get the best from each country and we thank Estonia for the feedback that we receive every time,” said Klymenko.
Estonian Interior Minister Lauri Läänemets noted that Estonia supports Ukraine’s efforts to establish a special tribunal to bring all war criminals to justice.
Lauri Läänemets added that he and the entire Estonian government will make every effort to ensure that NATO allies help Ukraine more.
The VRU said about five million hectares of agricultural land are still unusable due to mining, contamination by explosive residues or ongoing fighting.
