Ukraine received Samp / T air defense system from France and Italy – media

Italian publications say that the Ukrainian side has already received the promised long-range anti-aircraft missile system.

Ukraine received a long-range anti-aircraft missile system (SAM) SAMP / T, which France and Italy promised to transfer. This was reported by the Italian edition of La Stampa on Monday, May 15.

“A French-Italian anti-aircraft missile system has arrived in Ukraine, and 20 specialists will service it on site,” the report said.

The SAMP / T complex is an anti-missile system, its purpose is to protect the battlefield and important objects from cruise missiles, manned and unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as tactical ballistic missiles.
It was developed by the European consortium Eurosam (MBDA Italy, MBDA France, Thales). SAMP / T can destroy aerodynamic targets at a distance of up to 150 km at an altitude of up to 25 km.
In addition, he is able to fight ballistic missiles at a distance of up to 25 kilometers.
Warhead weight – 20 kg, launch weight – 450 kg. SAMP / T is in service in Italy, France and Singapore.

Recall that in April the media announced that the SAMP / T air defense system, intended for Ukraine, will be ready for shipment no earlier than June.

Let’s add that on April 13, Italy decided to transfer to Ukraine a battery of SAMP / T anti-aircraft missile system.
