The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky summarized his three-day trip to several European countries. According to him, these visits have borne fruit – “our soldiers, our state is getting stronger.” The head of state announced this on his Telegram channel on Monday, May 15.
The head of the country thanked Italy for all its help: “from protecting the skies to preparing for the full restoration of Ukraine after the hostilities.”
“Thanks to Germany for the largest defense package: 2.7 billion euros, Iris-T air defense systems of various modifications and missiles for them, guns and shells, armored vehicles … In addition, Germany will support our country for a long time. There are 11 billion euros for this, just for defense. In addition, Germany participates in the European Peace Fund, which strengthens our defense,” he said.
The President also thanked France “for new opportunities for our soldiers in the fight against Russian terrorism,” but noted that it was too early to give details.
“Thank you to Britain for the agreement to train our pilots. We are creating a coalition to train pilots on modern Western aircraft. Britain – yes, Poland – yes. I am sure that France and our other partners will join . We continue to work with a coalition of fighters, we are acting actively. Of course, thanks to Britain for the long-term capability for our soldiers, for the range,” Zelensky added.
According to him, “the main results of these days: new weapons for Ukraine, respect for Ukrainians, and we managed to make our victory closer.”
As previously reported, the meeting between Zelensky and Macron lasted about three hours and ended after midnight local time on Monday.
Recall that on May 14, President Volodymyr Zelensky visited Germany, and in the evening – France. A day before, the head of state visited Italy.
