This was announced on May 15 by British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
The goal of the initiative is to give the pilots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine the basic skills to fly the latest types of aircraft used by NATO.
Britain is continuing talks with alliance allies over a possible transfer of F-16 fighter jets to Kyiv, Downing Street said in a statement.
The issue is also expected to be raised on Monday during a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
London emphasizes that it does not yet have specific plans for the transfer of the F-16, at this stage this is only a theoretical possibility that requires discussion.
Ukraine has been asking allies for many months to give it modern combat aircraft, primarily F-16s, but the allies have so far refused. At first they explained this by their unwillingness to unnecessarily provoke Russia, then by technical and other difficulties.
The US-made F-16 is in service with many Western countries, and some of them are already ready to transfer them to Ukraine if NATO reaches a consensus. The United States insists that now the fighters will not play a crucial role in the war, and their maintenance and training of Ukrainian pilots will be expensive.
