Ukrainian defenders advance in the direction of Bakhmut in the suburbs. In particular, the Ukrainian Defense Forces captured more than ten Russian positions. This is what Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar said on her Telegram channel.
“Our units today captured more than ten enemy positions north and south of the outskirts of Bakhmut and cleared a significant forest area in the Ivanovsky area,” the officer said.
According to him, the Ukrainian military captured enemy soldiers from different parts.
“It is very hot in Bakhmut itself. The enemy has gathered all his forces there and is trying to advance, destroying everything in its path. Heavy fighting continues,” he added.
Malyar said that now the invaders could not surround Bakhmut and “achieve a resounding victory in this direction.”
The official also said that Alexander Syrsky, commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, is keeping the situation under control.
To recall, the Russian Ministry of Defense admitted that the deputy commander of the army corps for military-political work, Russian colonel Yevgeny Brovko, died while repelling the attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Bakhmut.
