North Korea fires several ballistic missiles

Japan’s defense minister said North Korea’s ballistic missile launch was a “provocation”

North Korea fired at least two ballistic missiles from its coast on May 25. Japan’s Ministry of Defense reported this.

It was noted that North Korea’s launch of ballistic missiles from its east coast was “a provocation that could not be tolerated.” The said statement was made on the same day by Japanese Defense Minister Nobuo Kishi.

According to him, the first ballistic missile launched by North Korea reached an altitude of 550 km and flew nearly 300 km. The second rocket reached a height of 50 km and flew nearly 750 km, he added.

Kishi said it was undeniable that North Korea fired more than two missiles.

At the same time, South Korea reported that three missiles were launched from the DPRK coast.

Apparently, we are talking about a new test of the Hwaseong-17 intercontinental ballistic missile, first launched by DPRK authorities in March.

In recent months, North Korea, which is in international isolation and subject to harsh sanctions, has already conducted several missile tests, according to dw.com. The United States has warned of the possibility that Pyongyang could also test nuclear weapons for the first time since 2017.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Joe Biden said on May 22, while visiting Japan, that he was not worried about new weapons tests in North Korea.

“We’re thinking about how we’re going to react to everything they do,” he said.

It will be recalled that North Korea launched three ballistic missiles.

It was also reported that North Korea was preparing for its first nuclear test in five years.
