The Turkish leader assures that he has experience in dealing with foreign countries and knows “their true intentions.”
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan criticized hints from his opponent in the Union of the Nation, Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu, that Russia was “spreading false materials” in connection with the upcoming elections. This is what the Turkish news agency Anadolu said on Friday, May 12.
“Kilichdaroglu has now taken on Russia, trying to annoy her. He is talking about some kind of “interference” by the Russian side. You should be ashamed! Shame on you! If now I say something like that and talk about some kind of “footprint” of the United States, Germany, France or Great Britain in the electoral processes in Turkey, what will be your reaction?” said the Turkish President.
However, he did not explain how “similar” accusations by Western countries could refute the possibility of Moscow’s interference in the Turkish election.
However, according to him, he has 20 years of experience in dealing with foreign countries and knows very well “their true intentions.”
Erdogan also criticized the Western media, which supports opponents of the current government.
“Who are they to interfere with the election in Turkey. The decision will not be made by them (Western countries – ed.), but by the Turkish people!”, – said the head of the country.
Erdogan believes that the authors of Kilicdarorglu’s statements are the forces that “intend to stop the development of the country”, as well as “to prevent the achievement of the goals of the Concept of the Century of Turkey.”
It will be remembered that on Friday, May 12, Kemal Kilicdaroglu accused the Russians of planning and spreading fakes.
We add that after this statement, the Kremlin “froze” about the interference of the Russian Federation in the elections in Turkey.
Earlier, the media reported that Russian special services conducted a series of staged protests in Europe. The purpose of such “measures” is to occupy Turkey and its NATO allies, as well as to discredit Ukraine.
