The Gomel Regional Department of the Belarusian Ministry of Emergency Situations purchases services for the modernization of an automated system for centralized notification of the population of the border regions of the Gomel Region. This was reported on May 11 by the Belarusian edition of Flagpole.
It is noted that they want to install sirens in 52 settlements in eight districts of the region. They will be placed mainly in rural areas – at the houses of village councils, kindergartens, schools and collective farms.
Referring to the procurement documents, the media writes that most of the warning systems are planned to be placed in the Gomel, Dobrush, Braginsky, Loevsky, Narovlyansky and Yale regions. It was these areas that in February 2022 became the springboard for the troops of the aggressor country of the Russian Federation to attack Ukraine.
It is reported that the Lukashenka regime plans to launch the system until December 2023.
Recall, the Air Force recently announced that Iran could transfer the production and assembly of drones to the territory of Belarus due to sanctions. The Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasized that the sale of such dual-use goods and high-tech products should be under increased control in order to make it impossible to circumvent sanctions.
