After this, the IDF carried out hundreds of attacks on facilities used by Islamic Jihad for the production and storage of weapons, and dealt a major blow to the assets of property of this bloodthirsty terrorist organization,” the Israeli Defense Minister said.
The “preemptive strike” was also directed at missile launchers ready to be launched into Israel. According to him, terrorist centers with anti-tank weapons were also neutralized.
According to Gallant, of the approximately 500 rockets fired at Israel, 100 reached Gaza, many landed in the open, some were intercepted, and others hit Israeli homes.
“A situation where Israeli children can suffer is unacceptable to me, and I will not allow it,” Gallant said.
He added that the current campaign is not over yet: “I hope we can finish it soon, but we are ready for it to continue.”
The Israel Defense Forces said it launched an airstrike on Islamic Jihad positions in the southern Gaza Strip, which were previously used to fire mortars into Israel. The IDF added that at this time they continue to strike targets in the Gaza Strip.
