The agency called the participation of the leaders of several countries in Central Asia and the Caucasus in this parade “an immoral and unfriendly step.”
Ukraine considers the participation of the leaders of Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan in the so-called “victory parade” held in Moscow as an immoral and unfriendly act. This is what the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Ukraine said on its Facebook page on Tuesday, May 9.
The agency also emphasized that the head of the ruling regime of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, is a war criminal – the ICC has issued an international warrant for his arrest.
The Foreign Ministry said that Vladimir Putin justified the killing of Ukrainians, the destruction of Ukrainian cities and villages, the abduction of Ukrainian children and repressions against residents of occupied Ukrainian territories.
The ministry added that the night before the parade, Russia fired 25 cruise missiles at Ukraine, including 15 at Kiev, to “cause more death and more destruction on Ukrainian soil.”
The participants of the meeting in Moscow were presented with Russian military equipment, which is participating in Russia’s unprovoked aggressive war against Ukraine for the tenth year, the Foreign Ministry reminded.
The agency added that it considers the participation of the countries’ leaders as “an immoral and unfriendly step towards Ukraine, a display of indifference to the Ukrainian people, who are fighting for their safety and freedom.”
“The people of Central Asia and the Caucasus made a very important contribution to the victory over Nazism 78 years ago. They do not deserve the fate of being used (now – ed.) The Kremlin to participate in a fake action that has nothing to do with the victory of the victors against Nazism,” the message said.
To recall, ISW believes that Putin is trying to use the parade in Moscow on Victory Day on May 9 to demonstrate the influence of the Russian Federation in Central Asia.
