New earthquakes hit Turkey

Tremors were recorded in the provinces of Adiyaman and Kahramanmarash. Their magnitudes are 4.6 and 3.9.

Turkey has recorded new earthquakes in the area affected by the devastating tremors in February. This was announced on May 9 by the Office of Disaster and Emergency Management (AFAD).

It is known that on May 8 at 23.20 an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.6 occurred near the city of Chelikhan, Adiyaman province. Its epicenter is at a depth of 8.64 km.

In addition, on Tuesday at 06.11 an earthquake of magnitude 3.9 was recorded in the Turkoglu region of Kahramanmarash province with an epicenter at a depth of 7 km.

Remember, on February 6, two earthquakes with a magnitude greater than seven points occurred in Turkey. The tremors, followed by thousands of aftershocks, were also felt in neighboring countries, with Syria the hardest hit.

According to the latest data, the number of victims of the earthquake in Turkey exceeded 50 thousand people.
