The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, who arrived in Kyiv on Tuesday morning, May 9. The Ukrainian leader announced this on Facebook.
Zelensky recalled that today May 9 will be Europe Day in Ukraine, and not only in the European Union.
“Today we meet in Kiev on this special day, because Kiev is the perfect place to celebrate Europe Day. Every day, the brave people of Ukraine defend exactly those values that are the basis of the European Union,” the president said.
Zelensky released a video of the meeting, making it clear that the negotiations were taking place in Kyiv’s Sophia area.
On the eve of Zelensky, it was said that the Ukrainians, together with the civilized world, destroyed Nazism, and now they will also destroy racism.
