British authorities are ready to transfer long-range missiles to Kyiv, which the US has so far refused to provide. On Monday, May 8, The Washington Post reported.
An announcement on May 2 from the Department of Defense of the United Kingdom, published by the International Arms Purchase Fund led by the UK for Ukraine, expressed interest in providing ammunition capable of striking up to 300 kilometers away.
An unnamed British official in a comment to the media refused to confirm the timing of the delivery, the type or quantity of future weapons, as the final decision has not yet been made. However, this announcement is a significant step towards the UK starting to supply Ukraine with weapons that match the characteristics of the air-launched Storm Shadow cruise missiles, which can be installed on Ukrainian Soviet-made jets and reach Russian territory.
It was also reported that in one of the classified documents leaked online via the messaging platform Discord, US intelligence confirmed that the UK intends to send an unspecified number of Storm Shadow missiles to Ukraine with personnel of British.
Earlier, the British edition of The Times reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine were ready to use British missiles for an attack on Crimea.
