The company noted that currently five power units of the nuclear power plant are in cold shutdown state, and the 5th power unit is in hot shutdown state.
There is no change in the operation of the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) which was captured by the Russian invaders on Saturday, May 6. This was stated by NAEC Energoatom on its Telegram channel.
Currently, the nuclear power plant does not produce electricity, drawing it from the Ukrainian energy system to meet its own needs, the company said.
“Five power units of ZNPP (today – ed.) are in a state of cold shutdown, the 5th power unit is in a state of hot shutdown. Statements of the pro-Russian information source of propaganda about the complete shutdown of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant does not correspond to the truth. Trust the verified official sources of information,” stressed Energoatom.
As we have already written, Prime Minister Denis Shmihal said that the Russians, through their actions at the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, could lead to a disaster many times greater than the Chernobyl scale.
In addition, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said that during a visit to the captured Zaporozhye nuclear power plant in late March, he saw clear signs of military preparations.
