The Ukrainian military for the first time managed to shoot down the Russian Kh-47 Kinzhal missile, which the Russians call “hypersonic”. This was announced by the Commander of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant-General Nikolai Oleshchuk on Telegram on Saturday, May 6.
“Congratulations to the Ukrainian people on a historic event! Yes, we shot down an ‘incomparable’ Kinzhal! It happened during a night attack on May 4 in the sky of the Kiev region. The X-47 missile was fired of a MiG-31K from Russian territory,” Oleshchuk wrote.
He clarified that the enemy missile was shot down by the Patriot anti-aircraft missile system.
“And one more thing, you don’t have to run, as they say in Ukraine: ahead of your father in hell, publish information in advance that the enemy can use! We will definitely report what, where, what, and when they shot down! All the time,” added the Air Force commander.
Recall that yesterday the media reported that the Ukrainian military could shoot down a Kinzhal missile for the first time and published photos of some remains. But then the Air Force denied this information.
And this morning it became known that five Shahed drones were shot down in the Dnepropetrovsk region.
