Ukraine received a major boost to its armed forces with weapons following state visits to Helsinki and The Hague. This is what President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a video message on Friday, May 5.
“I am happy to say that as a result of the meetings in Helsinki and The Hague, we have a strong reinforcement of weapons for our soldiers – on land, in the air and at sea. I thank our partners! This is a significant increase ,” said the head of state.
Also, according to Zelensky, these visits contributed to more progress regarding Ukraine’s future membership in NATO and the EU, as well as Russia’s responsibility for the aggression.
The President noted that this week’s diplomatic work with representatives of the United States, Bahrain, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Canada, New Zealand, the African Union, Comoros, as well as the partners of the UNITED24 charitable platform, gave a strong positive results.
Remember, on May 4, Zelensky visited the Netherlands. He spoke at the country’s parliament and at the ISS in The Hague. He also met with the prime ministers of the Netherlands and Belgium, where they signed a declaration of support for Ukraine.
During a visit to the Netherlands, Zelensky was shown military equipment to be given to the Ukrainian military. The President inspected the new Patriot air defense systems.
