Under the mayor of Odessa, Gennady Trukhanov was given a bail.
A cash deposit in the amount of UAH 13.42 million was paid for the mayor of Odessa, Gennady Trukhanov, who has been in a pre-trial detention center since yesterday. This was reported to Dumskaya by a source in the municipality.
According to unverified information, the money was transferred to a special account by one of the deputies of the city council, a member of the pro-mayor faction “Trust deeds”.
Now Trukhanov is obliged to wear an electronic bracelet, come to court at every request and deposit his passport.
Recall that on May 4, the mayor of Odessa was taken into custody. This decision was made by the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court. Trukhanov has the right to make a pledge of UAH 13 million.
The term of detention is 60 days.
The arrest of Trukhanov is connected with the case of the Odessa Krayan crane-building plant. The prosecutor’s office accuses Trukhanov of taking over UAH 92 million from the budget. (approximately $2.5 million) through a scheme to buy the plant’s administrative building at twice the price.
At the same time, the Ukrainian law enforcement agencies consider Trukhanov one of the participants in a criminal group that caused damage to the state in the amount of UAH 689 million (approximately $18.6 million). There are 16 suspects in the case, including the deputy mayor, the former head of one of the public utilities, the former prosecutor of the Odessa region, owners and managers of development companies.
