To capture the city in the Donetsk region, the invaders pull the “Wagnerites” from another direction and replace the paratrooper detachments with them.
Russian troops struggled to take Bakhmut until 9 May. This was announced by Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar.
“To accomplish this task, they are pulling the Wagnerites in another direction and replacing them with assault detachments of paratroopers who are now fighting in the direction of Bakhmut,” he wrote in the Telegram.
At the same time, the Deputy Minister emphasized that Ukrainian fighters do not allow the enemy to break the defense. In addition, Ukrainian artillery fire destroyed Wagner ammunition storage areas.
It will be recalled that the founder of the Russian PMC Wagner, Yevgeny Prigozhin, said that his mercenaries will apparently leave their positions in Bakhmut on May 10 and hand them over to the units of the Russian Defense Ministry because of “shell hunger.”
