The Ukrainian authorities have no information about the so-called night attacks on the Kremlin. Volodymyr Zelensky has repeatedly stated that Ukraine is directing all available forces and means to “liberate its own territories, and not to attack others.” This was announced on May 3 in a commentary by BBC Ukraine, the speaker of the President, Serhiy Nikiforov.
What happened in Moscow is obviously an aggravation of the situation before May 9th. Expected reception from our opponents,” he said.
Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, also reacted to the nighttime explosions in the Kremlin. On Twitter, he wrote that Ukraine is waging a defensive war and is not attacking objects on Russian territory. Because, according to him, this does not solve any military problem. Russia can use this “attack” to justify targeting innocent civilians.
Secondly, we are watching with interest the growth of incidents and excesses taking place in different parts of Russia. The appearance of unknown unmanned vehicles at energy facilities or the territory of the Kremlin can only indicate the underground work of local resistance forces. As you know, drones can be bought at any military trade. In a word, something is happening in Russia, but definitely without Ukrainian drones over the Kremlin,” Podolyak wrote.
Recall, the Russian authorities said that the Kremlin was allegedly attacked by two Ukrainian drones on the night of Wednesday, May 3. The Russian security forces allegedly “disabled” these UAVs, but at least one of them crashed into the roof of the Kremlin building.
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that “Putin did not suffer” because he was not in the Kremlin at the time of the attack. Moscow also threatened that Russia “reserves the right to respond to an attempted strike on the Kremlin, where and when it sees fit.”
