On the morning of May 23, around 06:30, in Paris, at the entrance of the Qatari embassy, an unknown man killed a security guard. This was reported by Le Figaro, citing its sources to police and fellow journalists.
Police arrested the 38-year-old suspect in the area and then took him to the emergency room of the Hotel-Dieu hospital. According to media reports, the police would have known him and suffered from schizophrenia.
Clashes reportedly broke out between the suspected guards on the embassy’s territory, whose motive is still unknown. The latter died on the spot.
Police said the guard was severely beaten, but journalists say the attacker was carrying a knife. The Paris prosecutor’s office does not confirm the use of weapons.
The murder investigation has already begun. According to media reports, not a single video camera is working at the embassy.
