Russian military Vadim Shishimarin was sentenced to life imprisonment for killing a civilian in the Sumy region. This was reported by the Politics of the country.

This is the first sentence for war crimes in Ukraine against Russian soldiers.

Even at the beginning of the war, on February 28, in the village of Chupakhovka, Sumy region, Shishimarin shot 62-year-old local resident Alexander Shelipov.

.Then Shishimarin was caught along with three companions. One of them died as a result of a wound, two were exchanged, and Shishimarin, the commander of a section of the 4th Panzer Kantemirovskaya Division of the Moscow Region, was brought to trial.

Defendant admitted his guilt. The prosecutor’s office requested a Russian military sentence of 10 to 15 years in prison or life imprisonment.

It will be recalled that the occupier told the court how and why he killed a civilian in the Sumy region.
