In Russia, the share of one-way air tickets abroad has grown to a record high

Most bookings were made by representatives of the IT and telecom segments, as well as by companies providing financial and consulting services.

In Russia, the number of managers leaving the country without a return ticket has risen sharply. Among the most popular destinations are Kazakhstan, Turkey and Israel. This was reported by RBC on Monday, May 23, citing data from the company Aeroclub operating in the market of business travel services.

Thus, the share of one-way tickets in March reached 70%, and in April it was 45%. At the same time, in 2019, such tickets cost nearly a third of orders, the company said. The findings are based on an analysis of more than 1 million flight purchases and hotel bookings in the first quarter and April 2019, 2021 and 2022.

According to Yulia Lipatova, managing director of Aeroclub, the growing demand for one-way tickets is an indirect confirmation of the transfer of employees of Russian companies.

At the same time, they have shown interest in countries traditionally not included in the top advantages of business representatives, he said. Among the most popular destinations where orders are made without tickets are Kazakhstan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Israel, Armenia, Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates.

It was also noted that in April, the demand for housing in Israel exceeded the pre-figure 2019 indicators by 73%.

Most bookings were made by representatives of the IT and telecom segments, as well as by companies providing financial and consulting services. Typically, managers choose “visa -free countries where air communication is open,” says Aeroclub’s managing director.

Earlier, the head of the InfoWatch group, Natalia Kasperskaya, said that after the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, many IT specialists left Russia.

“The problem of the influx of staff exists. It was huge in late February – early March, when hordes of IT people, who didn’t understand the way, rushed to where. They were rushing mainly near foreign countries, “she noted.

It was previously reported that Russian tourists refused to travel to the Crimea. This year, for the first time, Crimea is not included in the top 5 most popular “internal resorts” of the Russian Federation for the May holidays.
