Two Russians arrested in India for drug trafficking

The Russian Embassy in India is already investigating the details of the arrest of Russians in the state of Goa on drug trafficking charges.

The Indian Narcotics Control Bureau exposed an international drug cartel in the resort state of Goa and arrested two Russians. This was reported by the TASS agency with reference to the Indian media.

Those detained are said to include 1980 Olympic Games silver medalist in swimming Svetlana Varganova and a former Russian policeman. An Indian citizen was also arrested.

They found narcotic substances, including LSD, cocaine, hash oil and other drugs.

“Russian diplomats are in contact with law enforcement agencies in India. We have learned the details of what happened and are monitoring this situation,” the Russian Embassy in India told the agency.

Recently it became known that a native of the Russian Federation established a drug distribution channel in Kyiv. During the search, eight types of drugs and psychotropics worth 4 million hryvnias were seized from the man.
