The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry and the Turkish company Baykar signed a protocol of intent for the joint production of drones.
The center of the Turkish company Baykar, which produces Bayraktar drones, will soon be established in Azerbaijan. President Ilham Aliyev said this, Interfax-Ukraine reports on Sunday, April 30.
“When Selçuk (Baykar Technical Director Selçuk Bayraktar – ed.) was in Azerbaijan earlier this month, on April 3, we talked about our future cooperation and agreed to establish a Bayraktar center in Azerbaijan. In the near future, a Bayraktar center will be established in Azerbaijan” Aliyev said yesterday in Istanbul.
The President of Azerbaijan is visiting Turkey at the invitation of the head of this state, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
It was also learned that on April 27, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry and the Turkish company Baykar signed a protocol of intent for the joint production of drones in the country.
Earlier in April, Turkey commissioned the world’s first UAV carrier ship, dubbed TCG Anadolu. She became the new flagship of the country’s fleet.
