Five people, including an 8-year-old boy, were killed Friday in a shooting at a home in Los Angeles County. San Jacinto (Texas), about 90 kilometers from Houston, the Texas County Sheriff’s Office said Saturday.
The shooter fled and may be armed with a machine gun AR-15a weapon used in many shootouts in recent years.
The shooter is a Mexican national and all of the victims are Honduran, San Jacinto County Sheriff Greg Capers told local TV station KTRK, affiliated with the network. ABC.
Capers explained that the victims were shot in the neck and head as if it were an “execution”.
The suspect was known in the area because he liked to shoot in the backyard with an AR-15 rifle.
As Capers explained to the network KTRKthe suspect broke into his neighbors’ house after they asked him to stop firing a rifle in the garden because it was very late at night and the child was trying to sleep.
Local authorities are offering a $5 million reward to anyone who provides information that will help arrest the shooter, the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office said on Facebook.
Three more people were injured
IN facebook, sheriff’s office explained that of the five dead, four died on the spot, and an 8-year-old boy died in the hospital.
Three others were injured and are in the hospital, according to the sheriff’s department, which did not specify the condition of the victims.
The agents got a tip on Friday night that something was going on and headed for the house.
However, while they were on the road, the county communications center began to receive numerous calls from the 911 emergency number, reporting that there was shooting going on where the officers were heading.
When the agents arrived at the house, they found multiple gunshot wounds, some in critical condition.
According to the Gun Violence Archive (GVA), a non-profit project that tracks gun violence in the United States, there have been 174 mass shootings so far in 2023.
The GVA defines a mass shooting as a shooting that ends with four casualties, killed or injured, not counting the perpetrator of the attack if they died or were injured during the event. (EFE)
