As part of the “adaptation” to the transition to Russian programs, only three subjects will be taught in schools: Russian language and literature; History and mathematics of Russia.

In Mariupol, the occupiers plan to fully Russify education and introduce their own standards from the new academic year. This was reported by Ukrainian Ombudsman Lyudmila Denisova.

It was reported that as part of the “adaptation” to the transition to Russian programs, only three subjects will be taught in schools: Russian language and literature; History and mathematics of Russia.

“The attackers also held an ‘organizational-methodical’ meeting of teachers who were forced to cooperate in the educational process. Those who disagreed were at risk of ‘negative’ consequences-from ‘filtering camps’ to the point of limiting ‘humanitarian’ assistance, ”Denisova said in a statement.

The Ombudsman also noted that the participation of children in training near the zone of active hostilities is a direct threat to their life and safety and a direct violation of Article 38 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

“The imposition of education by the occupying country is contrary to Article 29 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, which establishes that a child’s education should be aimed at fostering respect for the child’s parents, his or her cultural identity, language. and national value of the country where the child lives, his or her country of origin.I appeal to the UN Commission to Investigate Human Rights Violations during the Russian military invasion of Ukraine to take into account these facts of Russia’s violations of the child’s rights in Ukraine, ”Denisova wrote.

It was previously reported that Kadyrov’s staff and the Russian Guard “controlled” Mariupol. It is impossible to leave the city.
