“Today, we are faced with a big problem that the enemy continues to leave us – this is the total mining of territories, and the longer the enemy remains in one or another temporarily occupied territory, the larger the mining area. . Besides here, we are faced with an enormous number of traps, both in homes and in critical infrastructure facilities. Even in children’s rooms and schools. They also mine power lines and gas pipelines,” he said. – emphasized by the Minister of Internal Affairs.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, almost 30% of the territory of Ukraine is currently mined. Considering this, the Ministry of Internal Affairs created the International Coordination Center for Humanitarian Demining.
“We will soon finish training another 400 of our sappers, who will start working in June-July. And now we are recruiting another 500 people who, after appropriate training, will be ready to do their duties,” said Klymenko.
He added that all the forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, units of the State Emergency Service, National Police and sappers of the National Guard, are involved in clearing the territory of Ukraine.
