The head of state noted that Mexico’s voice in the UN General Assembly and other international organizations is very important.
On Thursday, April 20, President Volodymyr Zelensky appealed to the Mexican Parliament to help protect the territorial integrity of Ukraine, Radio Liberty reports.
Thus, the meeting of the Mexico-Ukraine friendship group began with Zelensky’s speech. Deputies present at the virtual message gave the Ukrainian leader a standing ovation.
“Your vote in the UN General Assembly and other international organizations is very important. This vote is to protect the principles and goals of the UN Charter, and therefore, to protect the territorial integrity of Ukraine and all states in world,” Zelensky said.
According to 24-horas.mx, the Ukrainian leader noted that Mexico and Ukraine have traveled different paths and speak different languages, but “what allows us to understand each other is what in our hearts, the Ukrainians and the Mexicans, it equally causes pain when we see the lives of innocent people being taken.”
The President emphasized that Mexico and Ukraine share a dream of security and tranquility in every street of the city: “We do not see the same evil, which has many manifestations.”
The Ukrainian leader asked Mexico to continue helping Ukraine defend itself and thanked for humanitarian aid, treatment and rehabilitation programs for Ukrainians.
He invited Mexico to work together for the security of both peoples and the security of the world as a whole.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry called on Mexico to provide war aid to the Russian Federation. Thus, Ukraine is calling on Mexico to renounce its neutrality and provide assistance in the war started by Russia.
Remember that Russians who arrive without a return ticket are deported from Mexico.
