The clergy was charged with inciting religious hatred – he called the OCU “the confession of the dead.”
The district court of the city of Uzhgorod chose a measure of detention for UOC-MP priest Dmitry Sidor. The cleric was ordered to surrender his passport and face interrogation by the investigator or prosecutor upon request. UOC-MP Archpriest Victor Palosh spoke about this in a commentary for Suspіlna, published on Thursday, April 20.
Dmitry Sidor is charged with the charges under the article Incitement to religious hatred (161 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
“A personal obligation not to leave Ukraine, he must hand over his passport, and must also appear immediately for questioning to the investigator or prosecutor at the first request. We agree with Father Dimitry that the decision of this court is fair . But we do not agree with the claims made by the prosecutor,” said Victor Palosh, who was present at the court session on April 20.
It should be noted that on March 16, the SBU charged the priest of the UOC-MP and rector of the Exaltation of the Cross Cathedral in Uzhgorod Dmitry Sidor, who was previously convicted of separatism.
Dmitry Sidor criticized the believers of the OCU, called them “godless”, and identified the church itself with “an empty, no wonder basement with spiders” and “the confession of the dead.”
Sidor threatened that in the event of a ban on the UOC-MP or joining the OCU, the cathedral would be handed over to the Serbian Patriarchate, as previously reported by the media.
Recall that the court in Cherkassy chose a measure of restraint for the Metropolitan of Cherkasy and Kanev UOC-MP Theodosius. Now he will spend the next 60 days under house arrest.
The first suspicion was announced in the Metropolitan on February 20. The Sosnovsky District Court of the city of Cherkasy chose a measure of restraint for him in the form of a personal obligation.
In April, the SBU announced a second suspicion of denying the Russian invasion and glorifying its participants.
