When Nandif MagudumanaThe socialite doctor who fell in love with a convicted murderer and allegedly helped him escape from prison has been infatuated with South Africa for weeks.
A woman appeared in court in Bloemfontein on Monday on various charges, including murder, after runaway lovers were arrested in Tanzania after a manhunt that roiled the country.
Magudumana, 34, dressed in peach Nike sneakers and ankle chains, applied for bail but said nothing. After the case was closed, she was taken into custody.

Detainees
Bester and Magudumana were arrested in early April in Arusha, a city in Tanzaniawhen it is believed they were heading towards the Kenyan border along with another alleged accomplice.
Police said the suspects had several unstamped passports.
The couple were flown back to South Africa on a specially chartered plane and taken into custody.
Four other people were arrested in connection with the escape plan, including the doctor’s father, who allegedly helped Bester escape from prison and was involved in the murder of the man found in the cell. (AFP)
