The judge of the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court extended the duration of the duties assigned to the suspect for another two months. Such a petition was filed by the NABU detective, and the SAPO prosecutor agreed. This was announced on April 18 by the press service of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.
Consequently, the person involved is obliged to arrive at every request to the detective, the prosecutor and the court. He is forbidden without the permission of the detective, the prosecutor or the court to leave Kyiv and the region. He is obliged to inform the prosecutor, the detective or the court about the change of his place of residence. Kobolev must also wear an electronic bracelet and deposit a passport with the appropriate authority to travel abroad.
In addition, the suspect should refrain from communicating with a certain circle of witnesses in the case.
As you know, the Anti-Corruption Bureau announced that Kobolev was suspected of embezzling UAH 229 million. Investigators found that in May 2018 he issued an order according to which, after a positive decision of the Stockholm Arbitration in the gas case of Ukraine against Russia (in 2019, Ukraine received 2.918 billion euros according to this decision), employees were given millions of bonuses. NABU says that according to Kobolev’s decision, too high bonuses were illegally paid.
Recall that in March, the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office stated that the former chairman of the board of Naftogaz, Andriy Kobolev, should review the measure of restraint, since she did not make a bail of UAH 229 million.
