The US, UK, Canada, Japan and France have formed an alliance aimed at ousting Russia from the international nuclear energy market. Agreements were reached in Japanese Sapporo on the sidelines of a meeting of representatives of the countries of the Group of Seven (G7).
This was announced by the British government in a statement dated 16 April.
Five major countries have agreed to use the resources and capabilities of their civilian nuclear energy sectors to undermine Russian control over supply chains.
According to the report, this agreement will support a stable supply of fuel for today’s needs, as well as guarantee the safe and secure development and use of fuel for advanced reactors in the future.
The UK has been at the center of a global effort to support Ukraine, defeat Putin and ensure that neither he nor anyone like him can ever again think he can hold the world captive to his energy resources. Energy Security Minister Grant Sheps said.
Recall that against the backdrop of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the German government advocated the imposition of European Union sanctions against the Russian nuclear industry.
