It is noted that yesterday, April 15, in the evening, law enforcement officers received a message about an explosion on Miloslavskaya Street, as a result of which two people were injured – a 33-year-old woman and a 37-year-old acquaintance. The victims were hospitalized with bodily injuries, and investigators seized fragments of ammunition at the scene of the incident.
We carried out primary investigative actions and found that the offender saw his friend and her husband on the street and, out of jealousy, threw a grenade in their direction, the police say.
On the fact of the attempted murder of two people (part 2 of article 15, paragraph 1 of part 2 of article 115 of the Criminal Code), law enforcement officers initiated criminal proceedings. The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a period of ten to fifteen years or life imprisonment.
A special police operation was introduced in Kyiv to search for and detain the perpetrator.
Operational officers, with the help of analysts from the capital’s headquarters, identified the attacker and, with the support of the KORD special forces, detained him at his place of residence, the report says. – It turned out to be a 34-year-old local resident with no previous convictions.
The issue of informing the detainee of suspicion of committing a particularly serious crime is being resolved. Pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
