The statement of the Hungarian Viktor Orban about “financially non-existent” Ukraine was commented on in our Foreign Ministry.

Another anti-Ukrainian statement. It is cynical that the Hungarian leadership speaks out about the financial issues of other countries, while Hungary itself receives a lot of money from the European Union to maintain its economic stability. We urge Viktor Orban to look into the eyes: supporting Ukraine is not charity. Supporting Ukraine, Europe invests, first of all, in its own security, – stressed the speaker of the Foreign Ministry Oleg Nikolenko.
Earlier, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that the war in Ukraine will end when the US and the EU stop funding Ukraine. He also called Ukraine an “economically non-existent country.”
At the same time, a week earlier, Dmitry Medvedev, deputy head of the Russian Security Council, called Ukraine a “misunderstanding”, saying that “no one needs him.” Immediately after the news of Orban’s remarks broke, Medvedev called him “well done.”
This week, the Hungarian Foreign Minister visited Moscow once again and signed there agreements on cooperation between his country and Russia in the energy sector.
