Aid to Ukrainians ensures peaceful skies in Budapest and other European cities, the department said.
Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs advised Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban to “look the truth in the face” in response to his statement about “non-existent financial Ukraine”. This is what Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleg Nikolenko said on Facebook.
“Another anti-Ukrainian statement. We are not surprised that it received an instant approving reaction in Moscow,” he said.
According to Nikolenko, it is cynical that the Hungarian leadership talks about the financial issues of other countries at a time when Hungary itself receives a lot of money from the EU to maintain its economic stability.
“We urge Viktor Orban to face the truth: supporting Ukraine is not charity. By supporting Ukraine, Europe is investing primarily in its own security,” the Foreign Ministry spokesman stressed.
According to Nikolenko, the Hungarian authorities should be grateful that against the backdrop of the unprecedented Russian aggression, the Ukrainians, at the cost of their own lives, maintained a peaceful sky in Budapest and other cities in Europe.
Recall that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that Ukraine “cannot support itself,” therefore, in this sense, it is allegedly a “non-existent country.”
