US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin ordered access and control of intelligence data after the arrest of a suspect in leaking Pentagon classified data, CNN reports.
“As Secretary of Defense, I will not hesitate to take any additional steps necessary to protect our nation’s secrets,” Austin said.
He added that his deputy for intelligence and security will conduct the check.
It will also review “accountability and control procedures within the ministry to inform efforts to prevent similar incidents in the future.”
