The US Federal Bureau of Investigation is working to identify those responsible for the leak of classified US Department of Defense documents. He’s already narrowed down the suspects.

    .

    It is reported by CNN.

According to the publication, the FBI was able to identify a small number of people who are potential suspects.

The FBI believes they are close to identifying the person behind the leak, writes CNN.

The FBI expects that the investigation into the leak will move much faster than the damage assessment calculated by the Pentagon, says one of the interlocutors of the publication.

Recall that last week, secret US intelligence documents were “leaked” to the network, which, in particular, contained information about the preparation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for a counteroffensive.

As The Washington Post previously pointed out, secret Pentagon documents were allegedly leaked to a Discord chat by a young American employee of an unnamed military base to impress teenagers. WP does not exclude that the downpour was due to the human factor of the presence of so-called internal “useful idiots” who are trusted with secret documentation at work.
