The U.S. Department of Defense said there was no indication that Russia had used laser weapons in Ukraine.
The U.S. Department of Defense has no confirmation of Russia’s use of laser weapons in Ukraine. This was stated by Pentagon Speaker John Kirby, Reuters reported on Friday, May 20.
After Russia claimed there was laser technology that could hit enemy drones, Pentagon officials quickly denied the claim, saying Russia had not used such technology before.
“We have no indication of the use of lasers, at least armed lasers, in Ukraine. There is nothing to confirm this,” Kirby said.
It may be recalled that on May 18, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Yuri Borisov said that Russia was allegedly using the Zadir laser weapon system in Ukraine. According to him, we are talking about laser weapons, which are supposedly capable of physically hitting targets, delivering expensive missiles.
