The Russian propagandist died at the age of 48 in a Moscow hospital, according to local social networks.
Russian propagandist and confidant of Vladimir Putin during the 2012 elections, Eduard Bagirov, has died in a Moscow hospital. He died at the age of 48, Radio Liberty reported on its Telegram channel on Wednesday, April 12.
This information was also confirmed by Russian propagandist Margarita Simonyan in her Telegram.
The Varlamov News publication, citing a source close to Bagirov, said that he fell into a coma last week and that “all organs have rejected him.”
The Russian pro-government Telegram channel Mash claims that before his death, Eduard Bagirov was “hospitalized with gastrointestinal bleeding.” He has been in a hospital in Moscow since April 1. Moreover, he allegedly went to the doctor himself.
“Upon admission to the hospital, Eduard Bagirov was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver with excessive accumulation of fluid in the abdominal cavity. According to our information, he himself came to see a gastroenterologist in Medsi (a network of private clinic in Russia – ed .) on April 1. The doctor saw the bleeding, and from there he was immediately hospitalized in an ambulance in a critical condition,” the report said.
Eduard Bagirov gained fame in 2007 after the release of the novel Gastarbeiter.
He is also the author of The Lovers (2008) and The Idealist (2010).
In addition, Bagirov wrote scripts for the Onegin and the Ashes film series.
He is also active in politics. In particular, he was Putin’s confidant in the 2012 election, and in 2016 he ran for the State Duma from the Patriots of Russia party.
More recently, Bagirov has worked for state radio Sputnik and promoted Kremlin narratives on social media.
Remember that in the middle of St. Petersburg on Sunday, April 2, there was an explosion in a cafe that once belonged to the founder of Wagner PMC, Evgeny Prigozhin. As a result of the explosion, the “military commander” Vladlen Tatarsky died.
