In one of the cities of the country there is a big problem with traffic jams. So the authorities plan to solve it.
In the French city of Lille, authorities have decided to fine drivers for not traveling during peak hours. So, it is planned to reduce the traffic load. This was reported by The Connexion France.
It was noticed that during the period from 07:00 to 09:00 and from 16:30 to 18:30, major traffic jams occur on city roads. They tried to deal with them through various means, but all were unsuccessful.
So, the authorities decided to launch the Ecobonus campaign. It consists in the fact that drivers will receive two euros for refusing to travel during peak hours on motorways. The project will start in September.
It is already known that five thousand drivers will be participating. Later, more people will receive rewards.
To become a member of Ecobonus, you must complete the registration procedure before May 12. Then you need to download applications for a smartphone with movement tracking through GPS.
Drivers will be monitored by traffic cameras installed along the A1 Paris-Lille and A23 Valenciennes-Lille highways.
Recall that earlier in France, due to a protest against the pension reform, public transport was disrupted, 347 kilometers of traffic jams were recorded in Paris and the suburbs.
