As follows from the court’s decision, during the trial the man also confirmed his support for the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
A resident of Estonian Narva, who on May 9, 2022 came to the memorial tank in a T-shirt with the inscription of the USSR, was fined 444 euros, ERR reports.
Idas Prefecture issued a decision on the fine on November 24, but it only took effect this week, when the Supreme Court did not accept the man’s cassation complaint for consideration.
“The display of such a T-shirt on May 9 is an act of provocation, directly related to justifying the commission of an international crime and has nothing to do with honoring the memory of the fallen,” both the police and the Viru decided the County Court, which in early February did not cancel the fine given to the man.
As follows from the court’s decision, during the trial the man also confirmed his support for the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
On May 9, upon seeing police on patrol, the man tried to hide the T-shirt under his jacket, indicating that he understood that wearing a piece of clothing with such symbols was prohibited, according to the prefecture .
At the same time, the court assessed the level of the man’s offense as ordinary, because, thanks to the intervention of the police, he only showed the prohibited symbols “for a short time and to a relatively small number of people. “
According to the court’s decision, which began on April 4, a resident of Narva will be able to pay the fine for six months in monthly installments of 74 euros.
