French President Emmanuel Macron worries for the security of Moldova, leaving the situation in Transnistria.
French President Emmanuel Macron, in a meeting with Moldovan leader Maia Sandu, expressed concern that the aggression against Ukraine was a threat to regional security and could attack Moldova.
“Recent incidents in Transnistria show that the spread of conflict in neighboring countries cannot be eliminated,” Macron said.
In this regard, Macron also said that he would like to receive a response to Moldova’s application for EU membership in the coming weeks.
According to him, France “intends to pay special attention to the situation with regional security and any possible aggression on the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Moldova.”
Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron said Ukraine’s entry into the European Union could take decades. At the same time, he proposed the creation of a “European political community” that could accommodate Ukraine in its ranks.
