Since the counter-offensive began in the Kharkiv region, the Ukrainian military has liberated 23 communities. This was announced by the Deputy Chief of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Brigadier General Aleksey Gromov at a briefing on May 19.
“In the direction of Kharkiv, 23 settlements have been liberated by the actions of our troops since May 5,” he said.
According to Gromov, the enemy is trying to prevent the offensive and the exit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the state border, which intensifies the shelling of Ukrainian positions.
