“Then it was reported that Trump would face 34 counts of impeachment, but that wasn’t clear either, because that can mean, say, one felony and 33 felonies, which could actually be quite a case weak. But today we learned that the allegations are much more serious than that.”
After surrendering in Manhattan Criminal Court on Tuesday afternoon, Trump pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of falsifying corporate documents. The former president is accused of falsifying company records to hide $130,000 paid to porn star Stormy Daniels in the weeks leading up to the 2016 election to prevent her from going public about an alleged affair he had in 2006.
“Not just 34 charges, 34 crimes! Shit!” Meyers exclaimed after airing a criminal prosecution report. “To collect the $130,000 he paid Stormy Daniels, he also robbed a bank in a Halloween mask?”
