German Vice Chancellor Robert Gabeck apologized for the delay in the delivery of German weapons to Ukraine.
He stated this during a meeting with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
You explained to me and to other cabinet members that the threat of war was real. At that time, we started a debate in Germany that we should also support Ukraine with weapons. Then Germany could not or did not want to do this,” Gabek told Zelensky.
He added:
I am very ashamed of all this… part of my job last year was to help Ukraine provide weapons as quickly and as much as possible.
Recall that the Vice-Chancellor and Minister of Economy of Germany Gabek on Monday, April 3, arrived in Kyiv on an unannounced visit, accompanied by a small delegation of business representatives.
