Farmers protesting against the import of Ukrainian grain are asking the authorities to fulfill their demands. If not, they threaten to disrupt Zelensky’s planned visit on Wednesday.
Polish farmers protesting the import of Ukrainian grain into the country are threatening to disrupt Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to the country if their demands to the authorities are not met. On Monday, April 3, Interia reports.
It is noted that the association of Polish farmers “deceived Village” last week concluded an agreement with the government on the implementation of 11 requirements, in particular, strengthening border controls, compensation and soft loans. However, on Monday, the farmers said that none of the points were not implemented.
“A significant part of the goods goes on without being checked. At best, every second wagon is checked. The term “technical wheat” was rejected because it sounded bad. It was left without a name. We saw that nothing has changed,” said one of the organizers of the farm protests.
Therefore, on Tuesday, farmers will continue protests in the village of Chernychyn near the border town of Hrubieszow and it is not ruled out that they may hold protests during Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to Poland on Wednesday.
Recall that on Monday in Warsaw it was reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will visit Poland on April 5.
As reported, in early March, Polish farmers began blocking the highway from Ukraine in protest against uncontrolled food imports. Polish farmers are unhappy with the fact that prices for agricultural products are falling due to grain imports from Ukraine. They also told about the terrible quality of grain from Ukraine.
