Named cities that remain at the center of the conflict

The settlements of Bakhmut, Avdeevka and Maryinka in the Donetsk region remain at the center of the conflict. On April 3, the defenders of Ukraine repelled more than 45 enemy attacks in the indicated directions. This was stated in the evening summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

During the day, the enemy launched three missiles and 17 air strikes, carrying out more than 20 shelling from multiple launch rocket systems on the positions of our troops and the civilian infrastructure of the settlements. The probability of launching missile and air strikes on the entire territory of Ukraine remains high.

The enemy continues to focus his main efforts on conducting offensive operations in the directions of Limansky, Bakhmutsky, Avdeevsky and Maryinsky. Defense Forces units repelled more than 45 enemy attacks during the day. Bakhmut, Avdeevka and Maryinka remain at the center of the conflict.

In the Volynsky, Polessky, Seversky and Slobozhansky directions the operational situation without significant changes, no signs of the formation of offensive enemy groups were found. Some units of the Armed Forces of Belarus continue to carry out operations in the border areas of Ukraine. The Russian Federation continues to use the airspace and territory of Belarus, its military infrastructure. At the Belarusian training grounds, units of the RF Armed Forces are being trained.

The presence of enemy units on the borders of the Kursk and Belgorod regions of the Russian Federation is maintained. During the day, the enemy shelled the settlements of Zapsily and Miropolya in the Sumy region, as well as the settlements of Volchansk, Volchanskie Khutor, Zybino, Volokhovka, Rubleno and Olkhovatka in the Kharkov region.

In the direction of Kupyansky Kamenka, Petro-Ivanovka, Dvuhletnaya, Kutkovka, Zapadnoye, Masyutovka of the Kharkov region were subjected to shelling by the enemy; Starch in Lugansk region and Terny and Serebryanka in Donetsk region.

Directed by Liman during the day the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the areas of Nevsky and Serebryansky forestry. Makeevka, Nevskoye, Belogorovka in the Luhansk region and Vesele, Disputed and Razdolovka in the Donetsk region came under artillery shelling.

In the direction of Bakhmut the enemy tries to completely control Bakhmut, constantly riding him. He led unsuccessful offensive operations near the settlements of Orekhovo-Vasilovka and Ivanovskoye. Defense Forces units repulsed about 20 enemy attacks on the indicated section of the battle line during the day. Vasyukovka, Orekhovo-Vasilyevka, Novomarkovo, Bogdanovka, Bakhmut, Ivanovskoye, Chasov Yar, Ozaryanovka, Dachnoye, Aleksandro-Shultino, Zheleznoye and New York of the Donetsk region suffered from enemy shelling.

In the Avdeevsky and Maryinsky directions the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the Severny, Pervomaisky and Marinka areas. At the same time, the enemy fired at Avdeevka, Vodyanoye, Severnoye, Netaylovo, Pervomayskoye, Georgievka, Maryinka and Pobeda of the Donetsk region.

In the Mining area on the day the enemy did not take offensive actions. UAVs were actively used to direct artillery fire. He conducted shelling in the settlements of Novomikhailovka, Vuhledar, Prechistovka, Zolotaya Niva, Bolshaya Novoselka and Vremovka in the Donetsk region.

In the directions of Zaporozhye and Kherson the enemy did not conduct active operations, but increased his defense capabilities. He carried out shelling of settlements near the battle lines. Among them are Olgovskoye, Gulyaipole, Volshebnoye, Belogorye, Malaya Tokmachka, Kamenskoye, Zaporozhye region, and Kherson.

Aviation of the Defense Forces during the day delivered five strikes on areas of concentration of Russian military personnel and equipment. The Ukrainian military shot down an enemy reconnaissance UAV. Subdivisions of rocket troops and artillery attacked the area where the enemy’s manpower was concentrated.

Recall that the commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel-General Alexander Syrsky, met with the defenders of Bakhmut and refuted the allegations of Russian propagandists about the capture of the city.

ISW predicted the actions of the leadership of the Russian Federation after the failure of the offensive
