EOS Defense Systems in 2023-2024 will deliver to Ukraine up to one hundred of its heavy RWS.
Ukraine will receive a remote weapon system (RWS) worth up to $80 million from Australia. This was announced by the Australian defense company Electro Optic Systems.
“EOS Defense Systems division has signed a contract with the Ukrainian state-owned foreign trade enterprise SpetsTechnoExport to supply Ukraine with up to one hundred of its heavy RWS, including spare parts and related services,” said report.
The contract provides for deliveries during 2023 and 2024 with demonstration tests in the coming weeks and other standard conditions for military contracts.
“In executing this contract, EOS will rely on a support and supply chain network of more than 100 suppliers located in Australia and around the world,” the company added.
Remote weapon systems are used by several military services in Australia, North America, Europe and Asia.
RWS can be integrated into various vehicles and platforms and can be used for a wide range of applications.
It can be recalled that Australia is planning to buy up to five Virginia nuclear submarines from the United States as part of the AUKUS project.
