The continued operation of the grain corridor for another 120 days, as well as the quick repair of electricity grids, worked in favor of farmers.
The Ukrainian Club of Agrarian Business (UCAB) adjusted the indicators of sown areas and grain yields for this year onwards. This was announced on Sunday, April 2, by the association’s official website.
Specialists pointed out that the continuation of the grain corridor for another 120 days, the restoration of a stable electricity supply, as well as lower prices for fertilizers affect the positive forecast.
“Among the positive factors is the active demining of fields in the occupied areas of Mykolaiv, Kherson and Kharkiv regions,” the forecast said.
According to agrarians, this year it is possible to harvest 39.6 million tons of grain from nearly 9.6 million hectares, and the total yield of oilseeds is calculated at the level of 19.8 million tons.
“If such a forecast comes true, Ukrainian farmers will fully meet domestic demand and provide a potential export of 41 million tons of grain and oilseeds,” said UCAB.
Earlier it was reported that Poland plans to limit the import of Ukrainian grain.
