Help from the Poles will help balance the fuel market. Fuel will start flowing into Ukraine from the beginning of next week.
The Polish authorities will transfer to Ukraine 25,000 tons of fuel from their own reserves. This was stated by Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko during his visit to Warsaw, writes on Wednesday, May 18, Polish Radio.
According to him, now there is a shortage of fuel in Ukraine, because before the war 97% of fuel was supplied from Russia and Belarus, and now these directions are closed. Also, Russian troops destroyed the Kremenchug oil refinery.
Thus, stressed the head of the Ministry of Economy, the assistance from the Polos will help to balance the fuel market. Fuel will start flowing into Ukraine from the beginning of next week.
At the same time, the Minister of Climate and Environment of Poland, Anna Moskva, at a meeting with Sviridenko, noted that work is underway to increase the capacity of the Polish-Ukrainian border for fuel transportation. New supply lines and a new energy security system are also being developed.
“Cooperation will continue in times of peace,” the Polish minister assured.
As reported, on May 17, the government of Ukraine decided to suspend state regulation on fuel prices. According to forecasts, fuel prices at filling stations will increase by 1.5-2 times-up to 60-72 hryvnia per liter for diesel and 55-65 hryvnia per liter for A-95 gasoline.
